Women’s Health acupuncture support
The treatment of women’s health has long held a central role in the history of Chinese Medicine, with key texts dating back to the 7th century detailing physiological changes and treatment approaches from childhood through adolescence, the reproductive years, and the menopause transition. In modern clinical settings, the relevance of acupuncture is supported by a growing body of scientific research. Its value lies in its integrative role— effectively addressing a range of women’s health conditions across the lifespan, either as a standalone therapy or alongside biomedical treatments.
Acupuncture can be used to support the following conditions:
Menstrual disorders and syndromes: period pain (dysmenorrhoea), menorrhagia (heavy or long bleeding), metrorrhagia (irregular bleeding), PMS (premenstrual syndrome), PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder)
PCOS and PCOS like syndromes and endometriosis related symptoms
Pelvic related pain and conditions, such as vulvodynia and overactive bladder
Improvement of quality of life and menopausal symptoms, including vasomotor, throughout the transition from perimenopause to menopause
Autoimmune conditions commonly presented in women, including thyroid
Supporting women throughout cancer diagnosis and the side effects of treatment
